Casablanca. I really enjoyed this film, it was nice to see it start to end, I had only ever seen it in pieces. It was a nice film. Though I understand the hype, I don't think I follow it.

# 93. Watch 10 Classic Movies: Psycho

Psycho. Boy was it Psycho! So according to my parents it was doozy of a film, very frightening. All I got was a bit of a laugh! Gosh, the last 'chopping' sceen, I almost wet my pants! Well worth a watch for comic relief value.

# 13. Climb The Sydney Harbour Bridge

I did it! Kellee and I planned this years ago and to this very day I can't remember why we didn't do it when I lived in Sydney. Perhaps it was the lack of time. It was a very busy last couple of months I remember. Tidying up loose ends in my job, organising moving to London, finding someone to move into my flat, general stuff like that!

It was so awesome (my word of the month). I highly recommend it to everyone. Also, take the gloves. They look cumbersome, but you will regret leaving them behind when you're up the top. Just a suggestion. I'm far from being in top fitness so I went in expecting to be puffing away, taking my time and to be sore for days. Joy! Joy joy joy! I'm not aerobically harmed in any way! So please don't let the thought of an over-exertion stop you. Vertigo will though. If you're in the slightest bit afraid of heights, don't part with you money. For me, watching the sun rise over the city on top of the bridge was well worth the (extremely) early morning.

# 93. Watch 10 Classic Movies: Requiem for a Dream

Requiem for a Dream. I found this to be an intense and devistating film. Drugs, drug induced reality, cold harsh reality and the consequenses of all three. Beautiful, simply beautiful and very, very sad. In the end, when the four main charaters are reduced to failure, catatonia, amutation and degredation all share the same lonleyness with the powerful imagery of the foetal position.

THE STREETS

The Streets were amazing! I had a great night! the place was small and dingy, just the way i like it! The crowd serged forward and I was caught in the mix and ended up in the front, right near Mike Skinner! I had a great night!

GRAPE GRAZING

I was going to Grape Grazing this weekend, I was really looking forward to it, my fave DJ's Grant Smilie and John Course were playing and there was plenty of wine to be consumed. Unfortuatley the weekend has been cancelled bcause of the bushfires. Grape Grazing has assured us all residual costs will be given to the bushfores appeal. At least my money is going to a good cause.

The weekend that was,...

Well I didn't have a good weekend at all. The temperature reached 46 in Geelong, I have no idea when we reached the max. temp or if it was measured correctly, but I can tell you the soles of my feet were burning inside my runners, it was just so hot. I have been in some remote outback towns in Oz, in the middle of summer and I have never been known the heat to be so bad. The winds were amazingly strong, we thought if we had to evacuate, the little car would be blown from the road. There was a tense couple of hours waiting for the news the fires had breached the town, I live on the last street bordering the city and as far as the eye can see are sunburnt fields. The area is a new release of land so both houses bordering ours are partial new builds, just wooden frames. If the fires were near, our place was a gonner. Luckily, the fires didn't come anywhere near us. The sky was ashy, but we were safe. The last major, devistating fires were the 'ash wednesday' fires, they came much closer to us back in 1983. I can remember those fires; everyone was pale and quiet, talking in whispers. I was only a tiny kiddie then, what I remember the most was the errie feeling, and the adults looking scared. The death toll is more than double ash wednesday, 104 people and counting, they just couldn't get out fast enough. It's a sad, sad time in Victoria right now.

I love that I'm going to get a cash hand out from Uncle Kevin, I have a couple of ways I could spend it...

- put it toward a new laptop
- put it towards a plane ticket to somewhere or
- spend the lot on alcohol

I'll make up my mind when I find out how much I'll actually get. I really shouldn't get anything...it should be going to those who really need it like single income families and the homeless, but I'm not going to say no to a government handout!

#35 DO NOT buy anything I don't need...

This is really hard! There are so many things I want to buy...crappy incidental stuff like a new bed spread or a new bed or a snow board. none of these I actually need (especially since I can't snowboard, it's 24 degrees outside and the nearest snow is in New Zealand). But I want them. So far, this had been the hardest task to stay on the right side of. The second half of the task, (above mentioned excluded), does allow me to spend money...

# 22 Buy an external drive for backup

So last Saturday I ventured to the shops for a third time and picked up a swanky external hard drive for storage. I've wanted one for ages because my laptop is on it's last legs. I didn't want to tempt fate by not having one and losing all my wonderful photos! Now I just have to backup all my stuff!

It's very hard to work when you're sleepy. I'm sleepy because of the hot nights and the mind-numbing-spreadsheet-work I'm currently doing. The auditors are here and they're busting everyone's balls and I have so many reconciliations to update it's not even funny. So I'm taking a time out to have a nice hot cup of tea to return to reality.

...I'm booked and ready to go! My mate Kat from New Zealand comes to Melbourne on the 19th May and we travel together to the Gold Coast for whats turning out to be a yearly reunion of travelling buddies! I'm pretty psyched, I haven't seen Kat since Mexico and we were all about the sights. This trip will just be about the sun, the booze and the dancing. The way holidays should be!

# 84. Organise the bookshelf by genre and author

The books are organised! It was a herculean feat really. After we moved, all the books were thrown into the bookshelves just to keep house tidy. Looking for a book was a nightmare! I would spend around 10 minutes every Monday morning searching for the book I had decided to read on the way to work. It’s a shame I’ve had to put this chore on the list just to get it done! A new bookshelf is in order, plenty of displaced books still lying around!

# 45. Frame a photo from every country I’ve been to

I went through my photos and chose the ones I’m going to get framed. I will eventually have framed photos from all the places I travelled to but for now, I’m just framing the ones I like the most! I seem to have lost a lot of albums, especially the ones of Australia. I spent two years travelling Oz and I can clearly remember the most amazing landscapes. I suppose I’ll just have to do it all again! Like I need an excuse! Travelling Australia will be on my next 101!

# 44. Fix Europe Photos 1st trip and make back ups of all photos

Finally I’ve sorted my photos from my first European trip. I had them in some old, crappy photo albums which were shoved to the back of my cupboard. Some of the photos were so cringe worthy that I never looked at them. The said photos are now long gone and my photos are liberated from the albums. Now what do with them? I might leave them in the photo box for now.

Happy New Year! While I don't go in for new years resolutions, this all-consuming, obsessive-compulsive-inducing blog is a great way to bring in 2009. Kellee started me on this Golden Bricked Road around September; it has taken this long to finally finish my 101 list. I wanted the items to be about me and what I wanted and needed.
